cosplaying tips

Here I will share with you someJapanese cosplay tips that I hope you will find useful.
Japanese cosplay is a hobby taken on by many teens to young adults.
Cosplaying is simply dressing up as an anime or manga character and sometimes even learning lines and actions to act like the anime or manga character.
Here I have written down a few Japanese cosplay tips to help with cosplaying, and even Japanese cosplay costume making.

Japanese Cosplay Tips, Choosing Your Character

Choosing your anime or manga character for you cosplaying is a hard decision but includes more then a lot of us think of.
It's not just about what your favorite character is, it's also about what you have available to you, how hard designing the Japanese cosplay costume will be to make, how big your budget is... how much time are you willing to put into this Japanese cosplay costume?
To start off write down your favorite anime (and or) manga characters on a sheet of paper, write down any large important details. If you want to look just like Miku but don't have long blue hair... you might want to look into a wig (depending on the length of your hair) and or hair die. ;) Notes like this will help you in the next step on choosing which anime or manga character you are going to be.
Once you have chosen your canidates and have your major details down you will need to look at your budget,
  • How big is your budget?
  • What kind of location are you in?
  • Can you get the supplies you'll need for your costume?
  • Do you have the ability to order on the Internet?
From online you can get almost anything. Deciding and determinaning you limitations and adding those with the requirements of your costumes can help you quickly decide which anime or manga playing you are cosplaying as.
Also look at aspects like how much work and time the costume will take... that will also be a large factor of your decision. Once you have narrowed in down to one anime or manga character you will be cosplaying as you can read on for more Japanese cosplay tips.

Japanese Cosplay Tips: Researching Your Character

Researching your anime or manga character before you design you Japanese cosplay costume is always a must. Even if you love a character and think you know everything about them you still can miss minor details that could be the chance between having a good costume and a bad one.
Get paper and pencil and write down the likes/dislikes of the character you are portraying, write down the color schemes, the patterns, the accessories. The more details you are able to jot down for later reference the better you will be.
  • Do you need special contacts for your character?
  • Do you need a wig?
  • Large prop, sword? wand?
  • Special fake nails or eye lashes
  • Lip color? Will you need Make up?
  • How about sparkles, glitter or special face markings...
  • What do you need?
Every little detail counts, but also remember to get down the big parts of the costume too, you don't want to be so focused on little details that you make a big, blaring mistake!

Wig Japanese Cosplay Tips

Wig Cosplaying Tips: If you are using a wig for your cosplaying you need to remember that you are paying for quality. If you buy a cheap wig for Halloween costume you will end up having the wig shed.. and lose the hair strands, especially if your trying to style the hair in any way.
If you need to style the hair, pig tails, pony tails braids.. you will need a decent quality wig. Long hair and or curl haired wigs are more likely to shed hair.
When styling in pig tails or other such hair styles the hair will be pulled in directions that will often show the "netting" underneath... this makes you wig look bad and cheap. Doing such things as getting wigs that say "realistic skin underneath" will be a better bet and give a better look to your styles.

Make-Up Japanese Cosplay Tips

When Japanese cosplaying a lot of characters have a special look, most can easily be obtained with make ups, however a lot of face painting and looks take a lot of patience and time. Also you will want to ensure you are not prone to breaking out from make ups or your face could break out... leading to a terrible time.
Cheap make up will also be more prone to lead to reaction, AKA breaking out. The better quality make up you can get the better, and if you are sensitive to certain ingredients make sure you check the ingredient list for those.
