Aya Hirano Has Brain Tumor?

This was blogged in Sankaku. According to the site, Aya Hirano revealed via Twitter that she has brain tumor. A benign one but a tumor nonetheless. Aya said that she had chronic migraines since childhood and she sometimes go blind and could not speak.

Copy of the supposedly tweets below. Be wary though, there are no links to the original source and researching over the net only points back to the Sankaku post so I am having a hard time verifying if this is true.

I’ve had chronic migraine since I was in middle school, and they found a tumour! That sometimes causes trouble so there are all kinds of restrictions I’m under.

Don’t worry – of course not all people with migraines have tumours. Mine is an adenoma of the pituitary gland [a benign tumour in the brain]. I have to go to the hospital every year for a checkup to make sure it’s not going malign.

Sometimes the tumour presses on my optic nerve and I go blind or stop being able to speak, but I’m OK! I’m used to it!

I have medicine so it’s OK! In middle school I was told there was surgery I could take, but I gave up on it because I’d end up looking like a mummy with my head bandaged up and they’d have to break my nose to do it.

I was told my voice would change too. Having just started as a seiyuu I was not happy about my voice suddenly changing.

At first, at school my speech became weird and my memory was messed up, so it was a big deal, but that was 10 years ago.

I’ve grown used to it. I know how to deal with it.

But it’s not urgent so there’s no rush. I’m OK. I’m going to the hospital annually.

Well, I was busy so I didn’t go for 2 years… this year my health broke down so I went to all kinds of hospitals.

[REVIEW] HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD season 1

Synopsis:

It was just an ordinary day at high school for Takashi, with ongoing concerns about how his childhood friend/would-be girlfriend Rei has hooked up with his best friend Hisashi, when one of Them arrived at the gate. Within minutes a zombie plague had begun to spread through the school, throwing everyone into a desperate panic as students got eaten by other students and then turned into zombies themselves. With Hisashi an early casualty, baseball bat-wielding Takashi and spear fighting specialist Rei battle through the zombies for their own survival, eventually hooking up with kendo master Saeko, gun otaku Kohta, self-proclaimed genius Saya, and busty nurse Shizuka. They break out of the school only to discover that the calamity which has befallen them is happening everywhere. As survivors desperately stream out of the city, the overwhelmed police struggle to cope with the situation, and other survivors resort to violence even against the living, Takashi and crew search for a safe place in a world descending into zombie-induced chaos.

Season 1 review

Aku membaca manga ini satu tahun lalu dan ternyata hingga kini masih belum banyak chapter baru yang bisa ditemukan. Sampai aku melihat animenya, lumayan XD

HOTD memang mengambil setting dan standar cerita seperti film-film zombie survival kebanyakan, tapi yang cukup menarik apalagi selain sudut pandang seorang pelajar disana (lumayan untuk belajar jaga-jaga ^^). Fanservisnya cukup parah, kadang terlihat lebay, oppai oppai oppai everywhere..film ini lebih cocok dijadikan game hentai text/novel based =..=
*dan kalau ada aku pasti langsung mencari dan memainkannya

Menonton sampai selesai 13 episode dalam satu hari cukup mengasyikan, soundtrack-nya cukup mendramatisir, rasionalnya lumayan meski untuk base karakter bisa dibilang standar setidaknya wanita yang selalu dilindungi si tokoh utama ahli beladiri disini.
Masih merupakan misteri asal muasal pandemic tersebut, diberitakan bahwa virus tersebut hasil rekayasa bioweapon amerika-jepang yang gagal dan memberikan dampak meluas keseluruh kota. Percaya atau tidak itulah pasti yang smeua orang pikirkan setelah memainkan resident evil atau menonton filmnya, "bagaimana apabila ini terjadi pada kotaku?" pernahkah anda memikirkannya.. saya pernah.
Jadi ya menarik saja, Busuzima adalah favoritku, diluar dugaan dia ternyata gila dan maniak LOL, dan yang paling keren diantara semuanya adalah Takashi secara tanpa dia sadari dia telah tumbuh menjadi pemimpin kelompok. Dia memang selalu terlihat bodoh oleh teman wanitanya tapi dia selalu bisa mengambil keputusan yang benar disetiap yang lain kehilangan stabilitasnya.
Sama sepertiku dia sangat tidak suka dibandingkan, apalagi dengan saingan cintanya :p kurasa semua orang juga begitu.
Yang lain masih oke, tapi sensei mereka aneh dan terlalu dibuat-buat. Greget banget dah perempuan ky gitu masi aja idup di zaman sulit macam begini >.< style="font-style: italic;">"Kau akan bertanggung jawabkan..?"
"kalau itu maumu..kenapa tidak."

Film ini mampu membuat kita penasaran dan terus menebak-nebak. artworknya cukup memanjakan mata meski fanservisnya (lagi) terlalu lebay dan berlebihan. season 1 berakhir di depan supermarket, sepertinya tahun depan akan lebih menarik.
